Is Turbulence Training a Scam?
By John Davenport Platinum Quality Author

Turbulence Training is a fitness oriented weight loss program which was created by trainer Craig Ballantyne, an expert and author in fitness and nutrition, and also a personal trainer of vast experience. Of course, this all sound great but some people are still doubtful and wonder whether Turbulence Training is a scam or a true program to help you lose weight.

Let's start answering this question by seeing exactly what Turbulence Training is. I mentioned that this is a fitness oriented program. What I mean by that is that while nutrition also plays a key role in any weight loss plan, Craig Ballantyne puts the emphasis on increasing lean muscle tissue and general fitness levels as a way to turn the body into a fat burning machine.

This process occurs when you have a high level of muscle tissue, since muscles burn off calories at an accelerated pace. Of course, this requires some work on your part. You will need to train hard according to what Craig Ballantyne teaches, but it won't damage your life. You need only do 3 workouts a week to get excellent results.

In my mind, Turbulence Training is no scam due to the following reasons:

1. It has excellent testimonials.

2. Fitness experts praise this program and what it does.

3. Craig Ballantyne is a professional and needs to maintain his reputation.

4. The program comes with a 100% money back guarantee.

5. Craig Ballantyne offers support for Turbulence Training, making it even less likely that he will provide a bad service, as this will only swamp up his time with complaints.

I have this program myself and I say that if you're determined to lose weight and increase your fitness, then this is one of the best programs out there for you whether you're a man or a woman, young or mature.

Update August 30 2009 Pro Or Con "The HCG Diet" By Health Experts

The hCG weight loss protocol consists of a very low calorie diet and is accompanied by treatments of hCG, rather oral or injected. It is first designed by Dr. Simeons with HCG diet protocol popularized by Kevin Trudeau in his book “The Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want you to Know About”. The average hCG dieter may see rapid weight loss about 1 to 3 pounds per day. In addition to the loss of unwanted fat, the true benefit of the hCG protocol is it's ability in modifying the dieter's relationship with food and eating habit, leading to long-term weight loss.

HCG Treatments Do NOT Work!

By Daniel Major Platinum Quality Author

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, or HCG as it is better known is yet another in a long line of fads that the weight loss industry churns out, preying on the unquenchable thirst for the elusive weight loss miracle that we all seem to crave for. Well I'm sorry to say that unless some undeniable evidence arises concerning the effectiveness of HCG on weight loss the Holy Grail is still out there somewhere!

HCG is not a new drug; in fact it's not a drug at all. We all have it in our bodies as it is a naturally produced hormone, and pregnant women have it in abundance hence why it is the hormone searched for in pregnancy tests that indicates and confirms pregnancy.

The claimed benefits of HCG to overweight people have never been substantiated. These claims were made publicly in a book by Kevin Trudeau. Mr. Trudeau is a notorious author who has previously spent time behind bars for flaunting FTC guidelines. In his book he made unsubstantiated claims regarding the weight loss capabilities of HCG and stated that use of HCG would result in quicker weight loss results than any other weight loss supplement available on the market.

There are a few Doctors that claim they have proof that HCG does work effectively and as Mr. Trudeau states in his book, but it must be stressed that these doctors remain part of a very small group of believers and forty years of government testing and studies have as yet failed to provide any conclusive evidence to back them up and because of this HCG has been in the US since 1974.

You can, however import this treatment or buy it on the black market but to be perfectly honest with you if you want to give your hard earned money away, I will provide you with my bank details and you can send me the cash you would have spent. I guarantee you will have exactly the same weight loss by doing both, unfortunately though it will be from your wallet!

If you truly want to lose weight quickly then the good old traditional methods of exercise and diet are what you will need to concentrate on, not some miracle pill that will make fat literally drop off you! You need to look at calorie shifting weight loss programs, these not only provide rapid weight lose healthily but will also help you achieve continued successful weight loss over time. Check out the links below.

On a final note, if all these weight loss tablets and cures are so called 'miracles of weight loss', have you ever wondered why then that they all ask users to take them in conjunction with a low calorie diet? Does that make any sense to you? Either they work or they don't, and by hiding results behind a diet they are saying only one thing to me and that is that they don't.

Learn more about how you can lose weight quickly and healthily, eating the right foods and achieve quick and sustainable weight loss without the using products that do not work like HCG treatment. Weight Loss Tips- The Statistics of Obesity

By Jessica Heller, DC, CSCS Platinum Quality Author

The obesity epidemic in the United States is startling. Below is a list of important facts, figures, and statistics that show just how alarming this disease is.

--In 2004, sugared drinks alone added 66 more calories per day to each American’s diet than they did in 1977.

--130 million Americans are either overweight or obese. This accounts for 64% of the population.

--More than 18 million people in the United States are diabetic, and 90% of these are type 2 diabetics (a disease strongly linked with being overweight or obese.) For every one-pound increase in weight, you have a 3-4% increase in chances of becoming diabetic. Losing ten pounds and exercising moderately drops your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 60%.

--American adults are currently averaging a weight gain of one pound per year per person. Just ten additional, unexpended calories per day result in an extra pound of weight put on per year.

--Childhood obesity has tripled since the 1970s. 1 in 6 American children and adolescents are either overweight or obese.

--Research has shown that our brains are as vulnerable to food addiction as they are to drug addiction, and that the combination of imagination and memory of a past experience with food creates an obsession for it.

--78% of Americans are not meeting basic activity level recommendations.

--70% of all cardiovascular disease is related to obesity.

--42% of all breast and colon cancers are diagnosed among the obese.

--30% of all gall bladder surgeries are related to obesity.

--The total annual medical spending in the United States due to problems related to being overweight or obese is $117 billion. Lost productivity due to these diseases is $3.9 billion.

--More minorities than whites are overweight or obese.

Non-Hispanic Black Women: 81.6 percent Mexican-American Women: 75.4 percent Non-Hispanic White Women: 58 percent

Non-Hispanic Black Men: 69.1 percent Mexican-American Men: 76.1 percent Non-Hispanic White Men: 70.6 percent

--Obesity is responsible for 300,000 deaths per year. Below are some common foods and the amount of exercise it takes to burn them off:

One slice of cheese pizza (330 calories): walking, 85 minutes; running, 35 minutes; biking, 47 minutes; swimming, 40 minutes; dancing, 56 minutes.

Regular Hamburger (272 calories): walking, 70 minutes; running, 29 minutes; biking, 39 minutes; swimming, 33 minutes; dancing, 46 minutes.

Garden Salad (241 calories): walking, 62 minutes; running, 26 minutes; biking, 34 minutes; swimming, 29 minutes; dancing, 41 minutes.

Raw Apple (72 calories): walking, 19 minutes; running, 8 minutes; biking, 10 minutes; swimming, 9 minutes; dancing, 12 minutes.

1 tablespoon mayonnaise: walking, 22 minutes; running, 13 minutes; swimming, 13 minutes; dancing, 16 minutes.

One pint Ben & Jerry’s peanut butter cup ice cream (1440 calories): running, 2 hours; One 13-ounce bag of Doritos (1820 calories): biking 2 hours, 20 minutes. Four pancakes with syrup and a side of sausage (1040 calories): walking for 3 hours 55 minutes.

Update August 28 2009 Pro Or Con "The Low Gi Diet" By Health Experts

The glycemic index, glycaemic index, or GI is defined as a measure of the effects of carbohydrates on blood sugar levels. Since Foods have a high GI caused carbohydrates that break down quickly during digestion and released glucose rapidly into the bloodstream. On the other hand, foods with a low GI have significant health benefits, because theirs carbohydrates break down more slowly, release glucose more gradually into the bloodstream. The concept was developed by Dr. David J. Jenkins and colleagues[1] in 1980–1981 at the University of Toronto in their research to find out which foods were best for people with diabetes.
The web page provide you with all the information how low GI diet can help to lose weight with Pro and Con opinions from health expert, please read the information before purchasing and consult with your doctor before applying. Losing Weight With a Low GI Diet
By Janeen Mitchell Platinum Quality Author

GI stands for Glycemic Index. It is a term you may have heard thrown around a lot lately, but what does it really mean, and what does eating Low GI foods have to do with weight loss? To understand the importance of eating Low GI foods to weight loss, and overall health, it is important to understand what exactly constitutes a Low GI food.

Low GI Foods:

Foods are rated on a scale of 1 to 100 according to their effect on the blood-glucose level two hours after the food is eaten. Foods classified as simple carbohydrates (sugar) will push the blood-glucose level up higher, faster than more complex carbohydrates, such as fruits and vegetables which provide a slow, steady rise in blood-glucose, without the inevitable crash that occurs with the simple sugars. These steady glucose levels are important for maintaining energy and reducing your risk to many diseases connected to these blood sugar imbalances.

Importance for Weight Loss:

When blood-glucose levels drop dramatically, the body will experience feelings of hunger. This can result in over-eating. However, when the blood-sugar levels remain constant, the body feels full. It is clear that by eating foods that will maintain a constant level of blood-glucose it is easier to prevent weight gain, and actually stimulate weight loss. In addition, an over production of insulin can cause your body to store fat, making it more difficult to lose weight.

In applying this concept to your diet, it is important to look for Low GI options to High GI foods. For example, eating sweet potatoes instead of baked potatoes, which cuts the GI number in half. It is also important to eat these foods with at least two of your major meals throughout the day and to eat snacks that are low on the GI scale.

Update Augaust 27 2009 Mediterranean Diet By Experts

Mediterranean diet is a type of diet inspired by the traditional dietary patterns of Southern Italy and Greece . The most famous one was presented by Dr. Walter Willett of Harvard University's School of Public Health in the mid-1990s. Based on "food patterns typical of Crete, much of the rest of Greece, and southern Italy in the early 1960s. The diet contains little low in saturated fat and high in monounsaturated fat and dietary fiber.

Losing Weight With a Mediterranean Diet
By Joseph Devine Platinum Quality Author

One of the most important factors in successfully losing weight is adopting a diet that encourages you to consistently eat right. So many diets fail because the food is unappetizing or too different from what you're used to. It's hard to stick with a diet that leaves you completely unsatisfied. The trick to successfully losing weight is finding a diet you can actually stick with.

That's where the Mediterranean diet comes in. Dieticians and researchers have long marveled at the healthiness and longevity of the Mediterranean peoples, despite their diets heavy in fat and carbohydrates. After research, Harvard's Dr. Walter Willett proposed what has come to be known as the modern Mediterranean diet, based on the traditional diets of people in the Greek islands and southern Italy.

Dr. Willett first introduced his plan in the mid-'90s, and it has caught on rapidly since then. Under his plan, dieters focus on eating sea food and poultry with a lot of vegetables, with the principle fat source coming from olive oil. Dairy products like cheese and yogurt are encouraged, as is moderate consumption of red wine. Red meat is consumed only in low amounts.

The bulk of the calories in this diet come from olive oil, legumes, unrefined cereals (such as wheat breads, e.g.), with lots of fruits and vegetables. The plan avoids fatty red meat, refined grains like white bread, lards and butters, saturated fats, rendered products, and sugars.

The Mediterranean diet has numerous benefits. First, because it is low in fat, it is easy to lose and maintain weight on it. Additionally, it is very good for the heart due to the same low fat content. And because it emphasizes delicious, traditional Greek and Italian dishes, it is a lot easier to keep to than some of the more faddy diets that offer quick results. It's important to remember that weight loss and good health is a marathon, not a sprint. While it's really tempting to think only of getting into that swimsuit in time or dropping that gut as quickly as possible, that's only a short-term goal. In fact, that quick-term weight loss may come at the cost of long-term healthiness. When the diet is combined with regular moderate exercise, weight loss is almost guaranteed. Just remember to stick to it and that weight loss should never come at the complete cost of enjoyment.

Diet Books Online - What's the Best Calorie Shifting Diet Book?
By Janine Michaels Platinum Quality Author

Calorie shifting diets have grown in popularity because it is a more efficient way for your body to still get healthy benefits from the foods you eat, while also losing extra fat that the body doesn't need. It's different than any other type of low calorie low carb diet plan.

The way the calorie shifting diet works is that instead of eating the same amount of carbs, proteins and fats each and every day, the diet plan has you eating a certain amount of carbs one day, a certain amount of protein another day and fat another day.

The result is that the total amount of calories that you would eat each day will vary - that's why it's called calorie shifting. Okay, now that's the basic concept. While there are numerous books that utilize this method, the best of them all, in my opinion, is The Carb Rotation Diet by Jason Hunter.

While some books gloss over the fundamentals of calorie shifting and give you some foods you're supposed to figure out how to make interesting, The Carb Rotation Diet takes the time to explain the concept in an easy-to-understand way so that you learn how your body reacts when you eat this way and why it's beneficial to losing weight.

Jason has packed his book with meaty information about nutrition and dieting tips so that you aren't left scratching your head, like with some plans, wondering why you're eating two slices of turkey breast and a handful of nuts on Tuesday (actually, on his plan you'll be eating a wide variety of foods).

I don't know about you, but I like it when someone takes the time to explain things to me in detail. Plus, you get to learn what kind of nutritional value protein, fats and carbs have in relation to helping you to lose weight. The diet is very structured so on some days you'll be eating a high amount of carbs, other days a low amount of carbs and yet, other days you'll eat no carbs at all.

Calorie shifting actually allows you to eat foods that are comforting like, brown rice, sweet potatoes, corn, black beans, turkey, tuna fish, beef and low fat cheese. So you won't be banning carbs from your diet or eating only carbs and not much else like some other plans. Eating a well-balanced diet is key to success with this diet.

Another component of any serious weight loss plan is exercise. In order to lose the most amount of weight on any diet, you have to commit to doing some type of exercise.

Getting your muscles moving will turn them into mini fat burners and Jason's plan shows you how to do this using an exercise ball and hand weights. There is a bonus book that has diagrams of how to do each exercise so you can replicate it at home.

Another thing that I really like about this plan is that there's a specific plan for women called, The Dramatic Dress Reduction Diet and one for men called, Get Rid of My Gut. The plans are very similar except that the exercises and bonus information caters to
either men or women.

Overall, I think this is the best calorie shifting diet book because of the amount of detailed information you receive, plus the solid facts that every dieter needs to know in order to really make a lifestyle change in their eating habits.

Tired of looking at your bulging thighs, flabby stomach and out-of-shape body every morning? Tired of letting food control your life? Tired of not being able to wear your favorite clothes? Well, now's the time to do something about it. Get off the diet yo-yo merry-go-round and change your life for good.

August 25. 2009 Update Today Featuring Alkaline Diet By Experts

Alkaline diet is defined as a diet program which helps to maintain the blood Ph levels in it's natural state between 7.35 and 7.45, thereby helping our body in absorption in vitamins and minerals resulting in weight loss. Today, our diet contains more acidities leading to chronic illness and loss of health. By increasing consumption of fruit and vegetables, it helps to reduce the intake of meat, salt, and refined starches, thereby benefiting our health. It is recommended by some practitioners if a person has the following symptoms of lack of energy, excessive mucous production, nasal congestion, over weight, etc. Please consult your doctor before applying.

Alkaline Diet Book - Your Best Guide to Healthy Living
By Bryan Dixon Platinum Quality Author

An alkaline diet book is an excellent reference to help through the alkaline-acid diet program. With the help of this book, you can easily determine specific foods or beverages that are either alkaline or acidic. More importantly, you can tell their levels of acidity or alkalinity as well.

Why should you consider practicing the alkaline way of eating? Although this diet system was primarily designed to help overweight people, it is a good program to follow even when you have reached your ideal body weight. In fact, it can be the best way for you to maintain a good and lasting health condition.

The goal of alkaline diet is to maintain the body's PH balance. Since excessive levels of acid can be dangerous for the body, eating highly alkaline foods can neutralize our system's PH or acid-alkaline balance. It is interesting to note that doctor William Howard Hay published a book in 1933 entitled, A New Health Era. In this book, he declared that people develop diseases because of autotoxication or "self-poisoning") as a result of excessive acidity in their systems.

Recently, Anthony Robbins introduced the alkaline diet book to the public. According to Robbins, many people suffer from acidosis or extreme acidity due to an improper diet and inactive lifestyle. As we consume highly acidic foods, we also accumulate acid-ash or acid residue in our cells, tissues and organs. Are you an acidic person? The following symptoms are manifestations of mild to extreme acidosis:

Fatigue
Weight gain
Constipation
Joint pains
Muscle cramps
Fungal infections
Heart palpitation
Nausea
Frequent headaches
Osteoporosis

People with normal PH levels seldom experience these symptoms. In fact, people with balanced pH are strong and active. In addition to this, people with a healthy pH absorb nutrients from food more effectively while those who are acidic may not be getting the full potential from food and food supplements they eat. Acidity is the culprit which leads us to weakness and diseases. Fortunately, we can do something to stop the continuous increase of acid in our system and avoid acidosis. The key is following a diet plan that is more concentrated on foods rich in alkaline content rather than foods that are rich in acid content.

Truly, the alkaline diet book can be your best guide to healthy living. http://www.acidakalinediet.org is an enlightening website that offers a newsletter and an Alkaline Diet Chart for free. Visit the website now and learn more!
